Allen “Butch” Roy Person, 73 of Lisbon, North Dakota, died unexpectedly on Friday, July 12, 2019 at his home.
Butch was born on August 27, 1945, the son of Roy and Mary Francis (Hays) Person in Britton, South Dakota. He was raised and educated in Britton. As a young man, Butch enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1966 -1972. Butch was united in marriage to Bonnie Wertman on July 5, 1974 at First Lutheran Church, Britton, South Dakota. He also started his career at Bobcat in 1974 and worked as a welder, in quality control and eventually drove truck until 1999, when he could no longer work at Bobcat due to health issues. Butch also owned and operated a radiator repair shop and car wash in Lisbon with his wife Bonnie. After retiring at the age of 65, he operated a computer repair business in his later years at his home.
Butch was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time with and spoiling his grandchildren.
Butch is survived by his wife, Bonnie Person of Lisbon, ND; children and grandchildren, James (Bobbi) Person of Fargo, ND and their sons, Dylan and Alexander; Jon (Courtney) of Lisbon, ND and their daughter, Brooklyn; Lisa (Ryan) Duval of Fargo, ND and their sons, Owen and Rhys; brother, Gordon (Carol) Person of Twin Valley, MN; brother-in-law, Jerry Anderson of Ellsworth, WI; numerous nieces and nephews.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law, Donald (Joan) Person, sisters and brother-in-law, Janice Anderson, Sharon (Burdean) Chapin and sister-in-law, Ardyce Person.
