Anna Katherine Aasheim, 92, of Enderlin, North Dakota passed away on Thursday, May 10th in the Palliative Care Unit at Sanford Hospital. She had fallen the week before and fractured her left hip, and that was more than her weakening heart could handle. She hung in there long enough for each child to say good-bye in person.
Anna was born on May 13, 1925 to Fred and Pauline (Hechenlaible) Huether near Regent, ND, where she was raised and went to school. Anna married Earl Aasheim in Regent on November 24, 1944 and they moved to Enderlin, ND to raise their family and farm for 57 years. Earl passed away on November 4, 2001.
When the children were older, Anna worked at HIllcrest Manor in Enderlin as an Aide and later a Cook. For several years she was the Head Cook at the Enderlin Public School. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, gardening, cooking, baking, canning, and playing card games and Dominoes. She also was on a bowling league for several years.
Anna moved to Independent Living at Riverview Place in Fargo, ND on December 1, 2001. On September 22, 2015 Anna moved to Assisted Living at Edgewood Vista in Fargo.
Anna is survived by her three sons, Dennis (Gail) of Enderlin, ND; Byron of Fargo, ND; Elroy (Laura) of Fargo, ND; and three daughters, Diane (John) Boyle from Alice, ND: Cynthia (Doug) Jordet of Fargo, ND; and Camilla (David) Haugen of Tulsa, OK; fourteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Bernice (Arthur) Huether of Mott, ND; numerous nieces and nephews.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband Earl, her parents, six brothers and four sisters.
