Delores Marcella Bell, 85 of Lisbon, North Dakota died Thursday, July 18, 2019 at CHI Lisbon Health.
Delores was born on November 12, 1933, the daughter of Joseph and Marcella (Fischer) Kastner in Garrison, North Dakota. She was raised and educated in Garrison graduating from high school in 1952. Delores was united in marriage to Francis O. Bell on June 24, 1955 in Vancouver, Washington. They made their home in Rutland, Montpelier and Leeds, North Dakota, where Francis served as superintendent of those schools. In 1973, they moved to Lisbon where Francis became the elementary principle. Delores stayed at home to raise their children. When their children were older, she began her career as a nurse’s aide at the Lisbon Hospital, retiring in 1995.
Delores was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Elizabeth Ruth Circle. Delores loved her needle point. Often when a friend or guest would stop by, they left with a couple of embroidered dish towels. For many years Delores would go to yard sales and auctions looking for that special dish. Tea services and bird figurines were her favorites. She also enjoyed a good polka fest. She and Frank would join family members to spend a weekend dancing to one of their favorite polka bands. Delores and Frank spent many hours enjoying rounds of golf together and also playing cards with family and friends.
Delores will be greatly missed and is survived by her son, Mike (Sigrund) of Camus, WA; daughter, Karen (David) Adams of Wayzata, MN; son, Jerry Bell of Wyndmere, ND; son, Mark Bell of Lisbon, ND; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brother, Robert (Wanda) Kastner of Garrison, ND; numerous nieces and nephews.
