Elsa M. Libak, 91 of Lisbon, North Dakota died Monday, October 28, 2019 at CHI Lisbon Health.
Elsa Mae Sandhei Libak was born in Bucyrus, ND on December 14, 1927 to C.A. Sandhei and Elise Olson Sandhei. In 1937 she moved with her family to Fort Ransom, ND. Elsa Mae graduated from Valley City College and taught school for a short time in Fort Ransom. On August 14, 1949 she married Marvin L. Libak. In the fall of 1955, they moved to the state of Washington where they raised their family. In 1983 they retired and moved back to Fort Ransom where they built a log home. Elsa Mae enjoyed retirement playing cards, having coffee with friends and looked forward to visits from family. Marvin passed away in 2002 and she resided in Fort Ransom until 2011 when she moved to Lisbon ND.
Elsa Mae is survived by her five children. Colleen (Philip) Rufsvold, Susan Libak, Randy (Ardis) Libak, Monte Libak, Mark Libak. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Her husband Marvin and son Scott preceded her in death.
A lunch in memory of Elsa Mae will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Standing Rock Lutheran Church, Fort Ransom, ND.
