Flora Mae Sulerud

Flora Mae (Shultz) Sulerud, 74, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, passed away Friday, November 30, 2018 at Eagle Crest Nursing and Rehab Center, in Ash Flat, Arkansas.  

She was born in Sheridan, Wyoming on October 13, 1944. She was the daughter of the late Mike and Vera Shultz.  She grew up in Elliott, ND where her parents owned the grocery store.  She graduated from Lisbon High School in 1962 and continued her education in numerous ways throughout her life such as becoming a volunteer EMT, a cake decorator, oil painter, photographer and bead artist.  She worked in various clerical and customer service jobs over the years.  After marrying Duane Sulerud on July 27th, 1965 they lived the military life in many places including Florida, Hawaii, Washington, North Dakota, Oregon and Louisiana.  Retirement first took them to Lake Park, MN and later to Arkansas. 

Flora is survived by her husband of 53 years, Duane Sulerud, of Horseshoe Bend, AR.  Her children; son, Michael (Audrey) Sulerud, Washington, PA, daughters, Kelly (Todd) Troyer, Fargo, ND, and Kirsten (Glenn) Gephart, of Battle Ground, WA.  Her grandchildren; Matthew (Shalene) Troyer, West Fargo, ND, Alexandra (fiancée James) Gephart, Fargo, ND, Michael (fiancée Megan) Sulerud, Jr., Butler, PA, Rachel Gephart, Battle Ground, WA, Taryn Troyer, Fargo, ND and Zachary Troyer, Fargo, ND.  Her great grandchild; Grahm Troyer, West Fargo, ND.  Her sister-in-law LeeAnn Shultz, Hickson, ND, brother-in-law Ron Bergemann, Lisbon, ND; nieces Michelle (Shultz) Jiminez & Heidi (Bergemann) Willis, nephews Dan Bergemann, Mike Shultz and Aaron Shultz. 

Flora was preceded in death by her parents, her twin brother Fred Shultz, sister-in-law Sandra Bergemann, her grandchildren Taylor Troyer, Mackenzie Troyer and Zander Troyer.
