Jesse Roger Evanger

Jesse Roger Evanger, 77 of Walcott, ND died Sunday, January 20, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at the Villa Maria, Fargo, ND.

Jesse was born on December 9, 1941 in Fargo, North Dakota the son of John and Ruth (Mark) Evanger. He was raised and educated in Lisbon. During his younger years, Jesse excelled at baseball playing short stop on the back to back ND State Champion’s Junior Legion baseball team.  Jesse was united in marriage to Connie Hanna on August 4, 1963 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lisbon. They made their home in Fargo until 1979. They then moved their family to Walcott, North Dakota to own and operate the Happy Valley Bar and Café. In 1992, Jesse and Connie decided to hit the road selling items from their screen-printing business. They traveled the upper Midwest going to craft shows and State Fairs.

Jesse enjoyed playing softball and bowling. He also was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, especially bow hunting. Jesse made many trips to Colorado with his family to hunt Elk and ride his ATV “The Green Machine”. He also had a vast collection of Broadheads and was a member of the American Broadhead Collectors Club.

Jesse is survived by his wife, Connie Evanger of Walcott, ND; sons, Dan (Tamie) Evanger of Walcott, ND; John (Christie) Evanger of Fargo, ND; Mark (Shawna) Evanger of Peyton, CO; six grandchildren, Samantha Olson, Tara (Justin) Evanger-Dalke, Tanner (Katie) Olson, Greg (Mellia) Rolle, Jace Evanger, Darien Rolle; six great-grandchildren, Jaden, Libbie, Skyaler, Letty, Joel and Abigail; three brothers-in-law, Jerry (Marva) Hanna of Vinton, IA; Willis (Gail) Hanna of Harrisburg, SD; Grant (Linda) Hanna of Fargo, ND; several nieces and nephews.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents and faithful, furry, 4-legged companions.
