Katherine Ciesynski, 80 of Gwinner died Friday, April 6, 2018, at Parkside Lutheran Home, Lisbon, North Dakota.
Katie was born on May 25, 1937, to John and Anna (Noel) Aberle near Wishek, North Dakota. She was raised and educated in rural Berlin, North Dakota. Katie married Leonard Siemieniewski on June 26, 1957, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in LaMoure, North Dakota. They moved to Gwinner, North Dakota, where they raised their two children, Donald and Donna. Leonard passed away on April 10, 1964. Katie continued to live in Gwinner and was married to Raymond Ciesynski on June 19, 1965. They had a son, Brendan. She worked at Million Dollar Baby in Lisbon as a seamstress for a couple of years and later owned and operated KC’s Upholstery until her retirement.
Katie enjoyed polka dancing, camping, fishing, crocheting, sewing, baking and cooking. She also enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Katie is survived by her children, Donald Siemieniewski of Moorhead, MN; Donna (Jim) Westman of Rush City, MN; Brendan (Michelle) Ciesynski of Gwinner, ND; five grandchildren, Victoria (Justin) Klick, Julia Westman, Bryton Ciesynski, Caitlin Westman and Hope Ciesynski; three great-grandchildren, Oliver Klick, Elizabeth Klick and Carson Hamilton; siblings, Rose Manikowski of Geneseo, ND; Delores (Walt) Haberman of LaMoure, ND; John Aberle Jr. of LaMoure, ND; Lucy Retzlaff of Fargo, ND; and Geri (Alwood) Huckell of Fort Ransom, ND; numerous nieces and nephews.
Katie was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Leonard Siemieniewski; second husband, Raymond Ciesynski (2015); infant son, Ernest Siemieniewski (January 6, 1959); and sister, LaVonna Swiontek.
Interment: Stirum Cemetery, Stirum, ND
