Kay Louise Simpson, 82 of Lisbon, North Dakota died Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Parkside Lutheran Home, Lisbon, North Dakota.
Kay was born on October 7, 1936, the daughter of Evan and Leila (Goodwin) English in Jefferson, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Churdan and Arthur, Iowa. Kay graduated from Arthur High School in 1955 and then attended Iowa State Teacher’s College. She was united in marriage to Harold Simpson on August 5, 1956 in Arthur, Iowa. They lived in numerous states, which included Arizona, Montana and North Dakota, due to Harold’s employment with the US Forest Service and Farm Credit Service. They eventfully settled in Lisbon and Kay ran a seamstress business out of their home.
Kay enjoyed reading, puzzles and going for walks. She was a great cook and especially known for her cinnamon rolls. Kay was very family oriented and cherished time spent with her family.
Kay is survived by her husband, Harold of Lisbon, ND; three sons, Dennis (Dawn Goerke) Simpson of Marshall, MN; Richard Simpson of Bloomington, MN; Greg (Kathy) Simpson of Anchor Point, AK; daughter, Valerie (Dean) Olson of Moorhead, MN; eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Marilyn Graham.
