Larry Erwin Thomas

Larry Erwin Thomas, 70 of Milnor, North Dakota died Monday, December 17, 2018 at the North Dakota VA Hospital, Fargo, North Dakota.

Larry was born on August 8, 1948, the son of J. Lawrence and Margaret (Werner) Thomas in Breckenridge, Minnesota. He was raised and educated in Milnor, graduating from Milnor High School in 1966. Larry also attended Denver Technical College, until he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving from July 9, 1968 – July 3, 1974 during the Vietnam War. After receiving an honorable discharge, Larry made his home in San Diego, California working for a company as an electronic specialist doing contract work for the United States Navy. After his retirement, Larry returned to Milnor in 2004.

Larry enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins, NDSU Football, playing cards and visiting with friends at the local hangout.

Larry is survived by his mother, Margaret Thomas Olson of Forman, ND; sisters, Judy (Ken) Etterman of Sturgeon Lake, MN; Carol (Del) Mehlhaff of Chippewa Falls, WI; brother, Darrel Thomas of Cayuga, ND; numerous nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, J. Lawrence Thomas, brothers, Allen and Kenny Thomas and nephew, Chris J. Thomas.

A memorial service will be held in the summer of 2019 at Milnor United Methodist Church.
