Mae Jeanette Swanson, 92 of Lisbon, North Dakota died Friday, March 30, 2018 at CHI Lisbon Health, Lisbon, ND.
Mae was born on March 16, 1926 the daughter of Albert and Julia (Sveum) Froemke near Venlo, North Dakota. She was raised and educated in Sheldon, North Dakota. Mae was baptized and confirmed at Anselm Trinity Lutheran Church where she was a lifetime member. Mae was united in marriage to Bristol Swanson on September 21, 1947 at her families’ home. They made their home on the Swanson farm, where they raised their daughter, Patricia and son, Bradley. Bristol passed away in April of 1990 and Mae continued to live on the farm until eventually moving to Lisbon. She has recently resided at Parkside Lutheran Home since the fall of 2017.
Mae enjoyed her gardening and spending time with her family. She especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.
Mae is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Gary) Olson of Milnor, ND; son, Bradley Swanson of Sheldon, ND; five grandchildren, Michael (Heather) Olson, Marcus Olson, Jeremy (Stephanie) Swanson, Nicholas (April) Swanson and Amanda (Tyler) Schultz; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Mae was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bristol, brother Wallace (Lenore) Froemke, brother-in-law, Joseph “Jay” (Helen) Swanson and sister-in-law, Frances (Art) Steinkraus.
Interment: Sheldon City Cemetery, Sheldon, ND
