Marion (Norenberg) Hartl, 90, passed away peacefully at Maryhill Manor Nursing Home Friday, July 20, 2018. Marion was born and raised near Graceville, MN. In 1946, Marion married Rodney Hartl of Alice, ND. The two lived and farmed near Alice until 1971, raising their four children, Ronny, Nola, Kevin and Rick. In 1970, Rodney and Marion acquired a butcher shop in Enderlin, ND, and moved to that town in 1972. Rodney passed away in 1975 from a sudden heart attack, but Marion and her son Kevin continued to operate the butcher shop that had become Maple Valley Locker.
In 1989, Marion married Ed Morrow of Enderlin. Marion continued working at Maple Valley Locker until her retirement in 2006. Ed and Marion enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and entertaining friends and relatives.
Marion was preceded in death by her first husband Rodney, her second husband Ed, her son Rick and grand-child Gary John. She is survived by one sister, Bernice (Norenberg) Erdahl, her children Ronny Hartl (Chuckie), Nola Jorgensen (Gary) and Kevin Hartl (Christy). She is also survived by step-children, Edward Morrow (Patti), Marna Foster (Tom), Bonita Sunderman, Leslie Schneider (Dale), Mary Ann (John) Richardson, and Germaine Poindexter (Dean). She is also survived by a total of 24 grand-children and 32 great grand-children.
Interment will be at the Alice Community Cemetery, Alice, North Dakota
All grandchildren and great grandchildren are considered honorary pallbearers.
