Mildred O. Johnson, 94 of Fargo, North Dakota, died Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo, North Dakota.
Mildred was born on February 28, 1924, the daughter of Oldus and Esther (Hanson) Johnson in rural Litchville, North Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at North LaMoure Lutheran Church in Litchville. Mildred attended country schools in LaMoure and Ransom County. She graduated from Kathryn High School in 1943. Mildred moved to Fargo and worked at the Northern Drug Company. She eventually returned to the Fort Ransom area to care for her parents, until their passing and returned to Fargo in 1971. She worked in retail at Blacks and J. C. Penny until her retirement in 1991.
Mildred enjoyed shopping, anything with cats and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, going on a cruise ship to the Caribbean, and her European travels, especially Norway.
Mildred is survived by her brother, Marlow (Peggy) Johnson of Jamestown, ND; sister-in-law, Mary Johnson of Valley City, ND; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Art, Helmer, Clifford, Clarence and Allen Johnson, sisters, Edna Livingston, Rose Bartle Clarice Syverson and Verna Rufsvold.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Bethany Retirement Living Foundation (201 University Dr. S. Fargo, ND 58103) or Hospice of the Red River Valley (1701 38th St. S. Suite 101, Fargo, ND 58103).
