Mildred Norma Stenson of Enderlin, North Dakota, formerly of Rugby, North Dakota passed into the arms of the Lord on March 12, 2018 at the age of 97.
Mildred (Currie) Stenson was born on April 15, 1920 the daughter of Frank and Mary Ellen (Bacon) Currie in Tarsus Township of Bottineau County, North Dakota. She attended country school through the 8th grade and loved riding her horse to school. Mildred graduated from Willow City High School. Mildred met Raymond Adrian (R.A.) Stenson of Willow City, North Dakota and they married in November of 1943, settling on a farm in Ostby Township, west of Willow City. They later moved to Rugby, North Dakota. Raymond (R.A) passed away on February 10, 1983. Mildred worked for Pierce County Social Services as a homecare provider for many years. She moved to Minot in 1989 and in 2008, Mildred moved to Enderlin.
Mildred enjoyed gardening, all her animals, especially her dogs and cats, following her sons’ and grandsons’ school athletic careers and spending time with her family.
Mildred is survived by her three sons, James of Bismarck, ND; Aaron (Laurie) of Enderlin, ND; Thomas of Fargo, ND; seven grandsons, Josh (Sarah), Lucas, Eric, Jordan (Leah), Raymond, Alex and Adam; great-granddaughter, Caylee; numerous nieces and nephews.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Raymond (R.A.) Stenson, three brothers, Loren, Eugene and Leonard Currie.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Maryhill Manor (110 Hillcrest Dr. Enderlin, ND 58027).
Memorial Service: Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Enderlin, ND.
Interment: Little Flower Catholic Cemetery, Rugby, ND
