Phyllis Marlyn Krchnavy, 88 of Lisbon, North Dakota died September 11, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Phyllis was born July 31, 1931 the daughter of Roy and Grace (Howey) Kinney in Lisbon, North Dakota. She attended country school at Gilbert #4 in rural Lisbon and graduated from Lisbon High School. Phyllis was united in marriage to Albin Krchnavy in 1949 at the United Methodist Church in Lisbon. They made their home in rural Lisbon and farmed until moving to town in 1977. Phyllis worked as a nurse’s aide doing home health care as well as working at the hospital and the local nursing homes. She also ran the Scenic Theater from 1969 – 1979. Phyllis last place of employment was Fargo Assembly, where she worked until her retirement at the age of 86.
Phyllis was active at the United Methodist Church, helped provide Meals on Wheels and recently received a pin for her 50 years of service to the community of Lisbon. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and crocheting. Spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren was her greatest joy.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Monte Krchnavy, Julie Wheeler and Terence (Shari) Krchnavy; nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; sister, Darlene Dagman of Bismarck, ND. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Albin (1990) and son, Michael (2004).
