Rodney “Spud” J. Stram, 64 of Lisbon, North Dakota died Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at his home.
Rod was born on February 27, 1955, the son of Harold and Marilyn (Dahl) Stram in Lisbon, North Dakota. He was raised and educated in Lisbon, graduating from high school in 1973. Rod started farming as a teenager with his father, Harold and eventually worked on Elmer Dick’s farm as a farm hand, helping with the daily operation of the farm. He also worked at Welton’s Tire for many years during the winter months. After the 1997 ice storm he lived in town with his parents and was a great help to them during their declining health. After Elmer passed away, Rod worked fulltime for the McDaniel’s as a hired hand performing many duties on the farm.
Rod served on the Alleghany Township Board for several years and enjoyed collecting John Deere toy tractors. He cherished time spent with his family and friends, especially during the holidays.
Rod is survived by his brothers, Gregory (Crystal) Stram of Lake Park, MN; Mitchell Stram of Bismarck, ND; three sisters, Bonnie (Randi) Lund of Mandan, ND; Lynnette (Bob) Nelson of Lisbon, ND; Wendy (Richard) Beauchesne of Fargo, ND; numerous nieces and nephews.
Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Darrin Stram and nephew, Jeremy Stram.
