Roselyn Marie (Ries) Gilbert

Roselyn Marie Gilbert, 86 of Lisbon, North Dakota died Friday, November 15, 2019 at Essentia Health, Fargo, North Dakota.

Rosie was born on September 6, 1933 the daughter of Raymond and Gladys (Reinhart) Ries in New Ulm, Minnesota. As a young child, her family moved to the Lisbon area where she was raised and educated. Rosie married John “Buzzy” Gilbert on November 25, 1950 in Lisbon. They made their home in rural Lisbon, where they farmed and raised their two, sons. Rosie not only helped with the daily operation of the farm, but also worked at Moll’s Super Valu and later Hansen’s Super Valu until her retirement.

Rosie enjoyed carpentry work, photography and spending time with her family.

Rosie is survived by her two sons, Greg (Joanne) Gilbert of Waubun, MN; Danny (Connie) of Lisbon, ND; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, LaRay Ries of Dickinson, ND; two sisters, Jolene Elijah and Janice Kretsch both of New Ulm, MN; sister-in-law, Winifred Vogel of Lisbon, ND; James (Marthanna) Gilbert of Enderlin, ND; numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John (2004) and her sister, Diane Embacher.
