Timothy Dean Olson

Timothy Dean Olson, 59 of Gwinner, North Dakota died August 6, 2019, surrounded by his loving family under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Tim was born on August 14, 1959, the son of Melfred and Delores (Gwynn) Olson in Jamestown, North Dakota. He was later raised and grew up in Finley, North Dakota. He graduated from Finley-Sharon High School in 1977. Tim enlisted in the United States Army and served with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was united in marriage on October 27, 1979 to Verna Sanders. They made their home in West Fargo and moved to Gwinner in 1988. Tim worked at Bobcat for 31 years.

Tim enjoyed camping with his family. As well as hunting with his brothers and nephews. He also enjoyed building custom windchimes, which he made as gifts for family, friends, and for benefits. Tim cherished spending quality time with his wife, daughters and grandchildren. 

Tim is survived by his wife of 39 years, Verna Olson; two daughters, Tanya Halvorson of Fergus Falls, MN and Tabitha Shoars  of Gwinner, ND; thirteen grandchildren, Hunter, Makaya, Ceara, Cionhiah, Ian, Devin, Akira, Makenize, Khloe, Xzaviar, Bentley, Ny’Tallieya and Logan;  Brothers, Rick Olson of Blackduck, MN; Mark (Bonnie) Olson of Valley City, ND; Sister, Judy Gwynn Timms of Fargo, ND; fourteen nieces and nephews.

Tim was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, granddaughter Khloe, brothers; James and Paul Olson.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in Tim’s name to Sanford Roger Maris Cancer Center (820 4th St. N. Fargo, ND 58102) or Hospice of the Red River Valley (1701 38th St. S. Ste 101, Fargo, ND 58103).
