Allan Froemke 94, of Lisbon passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at Kinder Care Assisted Living, West Fargo, North Dakota.
Allan Herbert Froemke was born November 21, 1925 in Lisbon, ND to Herbert and Mae (Anderson)Froemke. He attended school in Big Bend township thru 8th grade and graduated from Lisbon High School in 1944. He also attended Northwestern College.
He fell in love with Arlene Hass during the days when she would sing on the radio. They were married in Valley City, ND on December 30, 1948 and made their home on the farm east of Lisbon and raised 9 children there. In 1970 they moved a home 5 miles east of Lisbon and enjoyed many years in the “Big White House” with their growing family. In 1999 they moved into Lisbon and enjoyed some traveling during their retirement years.
Arlene passed away in 2004. Allan had resided at Kinder Care Assisted Living in West Fargo since 2018.
Allan and his sons moved many churches, barns, airplane hangars, elevators and houses in the tri state area. He enjoyed working on restoration projects such as old cars and tractors. Allan was also a fan of racing, served on the township board, was a church deacon and a charter member of the local FFA Chapter. A large cross made from timbers along highway 27 east of Lisbon serves as a landmark for travelers.
He is survived by a son, Reggie (Susan) of Lisbon and four daughters, Melody Reams and Brenda Ciccone, both of Minneapolis, MN Deb (Rollie) Reinke and Terry (Jon) Carter of Lisbon, 17 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, sisters Elaine Pfiefer, Betty (Warren) Wiltse and sister in law Arlene (Dean) Froemke, Eleanor(Don) Senrick and Jo Ann Korf.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 5 sons, Bruce Allan, Dennis Dean, Steven Dennis, Jeffery Lee and Bradley Paul, sisters Arlene Gibson, Karen Trom, brother Dean Froemke, brother in laws Emil Hass, Dale Korf, Leslie Gibson, Warren Pfiefer and Emil and Evelyn Hass.
Allan always enjoyed going for a ride and is enjoying a joyous reunion now that he has gone the last mile of the way.
Private services will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lisbon, ND.
