Dale Jerome Anderson

Dale J. Anderson, 83 of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota formerly of Fort Ransom, North Dakota passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Ecumen Memory Care, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.

Dale was born at Valley City, North Dakota on February 11, 1936 to James and Carla (Strand) Anderson. He graduated from Oriska High School and as a young man enlisted in the United States Army in November of 1958 and received an honorable discharge in November of 1960.In 1962, Dale started Bears Den Mountain Ski Area with some friends and continued to operate it until 2013. Dale also worked construction for Twin City Construction in Fargo until he started Skyline Construction in 1976 and continued until his retirement in 2013.

Dale enjoyed flying airplanes, downhill skiing, riding saddle bronc in rodeos, golfing, playing guitar, watching football and baseball on the TV.

Dale is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marlene Anderson, Children, Susan (Barry) Sundlie of Horace, ND; David Anderson of West Fargo, ND; Stacy (Scott) Morris of Detroit Lakes, MN; grandchildren, Kaitlin and Spencer Sundlie, Tavin and Axel Morris; siblings, Eugene Anderson of Youngville, CA; Gerald (Betty) Anderson of Bellevue, NE; Pearlene Vosburg of Fargo, ND; James (Elaine) Anderson of Grand Forks, ND; Shirley Wigen of Fargo, ND; Sandra Swanson of Moorhead, MN; Ronald (Karen) Anderson of Casselton, ND; Janice (Ron) Huesman of Lake Park, MN; Carol Anderson of Georgetown, MN; Richard Anderson of Fort Raansom, ND; numerous nieces and nephews.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald.

Interment: St. Petri Lutheran Cemetery, Nome, ND
