Frederick “Fritz” Rotenberger, 93 of Lisbon, North Dakota died Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at CHI Lisbon Health, Lisbon, North Dakota.
Fritz was born on December 8, 1926 to Jacob and Barbara (Wittman) Rotenberger in Lisbon, North Dakota. He was raised and educated in Lisbon. Fritz was united in marriage to Mavis Trana on October 31, 1948 in Gwinner, North Dakota. Fritz spent most of his life as a carpenter and built many homes in the Lisbon area.
Fritz was active at Redeemer Lutheran Church, volunteered for the Lisbon Fire Department for many years, active at the Senior Center and drove for Ransom County Senior Services during his retirement years. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and square dancing.
Fritz is survived by two daughters, Deborah (John) Hovel of Alexandria, MN; Peggy (Joe) Lukes of Lisbon, ND; son, John (Sandy) Rotenberger of Lisbon, ND; seven grandchildren, Dan (Julie) Hovel, Jane (Jeff) Schlotfeld, Blair (Lecia) Hovel, Nikki (Zac) Rasmusson, Ryan (Danielle) Lukes, Derek (Destiny) Rotenberger, Haley (Kyle Moerke) Rotenberger; fifteen great-Grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two sisters, Frieda Hanson of Fort Worth, TX; Sarah Sutton of Waterloo, IA; brother, Ted (Lois) Rotenberger of Henning, MN; sisters-in-law, Elaine Trana of Hoople, ND; Mary Rotenberger of Los Angeles, CA; numerous nieces and nephews.
Fritz was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife of 62 years, Mavis (2011), nine siblings, one brother-in-law.
