Janice Lee Obituary

Janice Lee, 82, Enderlin, ND, died at Maryhill Manor in Enderlin on February 7, 2020.

Janice Virginia Fraedrich was born on January 11, 1938, on the family farmstead near Enderlin to Loran and Elpha (Boeder) Fraedrich. She attended country school until 3rd Grade when she went to school in Enderlin where she graduated from high school in 1955. She married Robert Lee on November 6, 1955, in Trinity Lutheran Church in Enderlin. They made their home on a farm near there where they raised their four children, Cherie, Roxy, Robert Jr., and Rick. Her husband died in 1977 and a year later she moved into Enderlin.

Janice waitressed in various jobs until she went to work at Peoples and Enderlin State Bank in 1977. She worked for them and their successors until she retired in 2006.

She loved her family deeply and was a proud and dedicated Mother. Not only was she a Grandmother to her nine grandchildren, but she was the “Grandma everyone wanted” and so was “Grandma Janice” to their friends, the neighborhood kids, her nieces and nephews, and anyone who needed one. She loved going to her grandchildren’s events and was their biggest fan in whatever they pursued. Janice loved her yard and her flowers and working in her garden. She crocheted beautiful afghans and other gifts, but her “scrubbers” were always in popular demand from friends and family. In years past she loved being a part of and traveling with her friends in the Go Go Grannies Club and was a part of the morning ladies’ coffee group. Janice was a dedicated Twins fan and hardly missed a game on TV and cheered them on personally at a game in Minneapolis in August. She was always active in her church from teaching Sunday School to serving on the church council and being a member of the Ladies Circle and study groups. Janice had various health issues and many trials in life, but she always had a smile and relied on her faith to get her through. She was generous, grateful for what she had, and a blessing to many.

Janice is survived by her four children, Cherie (Allan Paul) Storhoff of Fargo, Roxy (Steve) Schmitz of Dent, MN, Robert (Kristi) Lee of Fargo, and Rick Lee of Enderlin; nine grandchildren, Tim, Amy, Chris, Stephanie, Erin, Meagan, Shannon, Brandon, and Taylor, and 16 great grandchildren with another one due in May; six sisters, Lavern Morlock of Gackle, ND, Phyllis Schlecht of Everett, WA, Bev Robertson of Enderlin, Sharon (Jerry) Skramstad of Warner, SD, Charlotte (Roger) Haarsager of West Fargo, and Deb (Kevin) Jordet of Enderlin; one brother Gary (Randy) Fraedrich of Barnesville, MN; sister-in-law Dolly Fraedrich of Enderlin; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her husband Bob, granddaughter Teri, brother Harlin, three brothers-in-law Sam, Hilbert, and Walter, and her parents.

In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to the Enderlin HEART Program on Giving Hearts Day.
