Kathy Lee (Woodhouse) Peterson

Kathy Lee Peterson, 70, of Huron, South Dakota passed away peacefully at home on August 5, 2020. She was surrounded with the love of her family.

Kathy was born in Huron, SD on May 22, 1950, to Leona Meyers and Darrel Woodhouse. She graduated from Huron High School in 1968 and went to Presentation College in Aberdeen, SD for Cosmetology. She then became a production manager at Raven Industries in Huron, SD, before becoming a certified dietician at Huron Hospital. She married David Brown in 1971 and they had two children together. In 1982, they moved to Colorado where she managed several PDQ Convenience stores for 12 years. After her marriage dissolved from David, she met Clark Peterson, the love of her life, and they married in 1990 in Colorado. They moved to South Dakota for a short time before settling in Lisbon, ND in 1995. Kathy worked as the Deli manager at Lisbon Grocery Warehouse until it closed. She then began her work at CHI Lisbon Hospital where she played many roles, her favorite being a sterile technician. She truly loved her co-workers at the hospital and made several incredible friendships over the past 19 years.

Kathy was passionate about flowers and gardening. She was an avid reader. She loved spending time with her kids, her family and her friends. She had a very strong faith in God, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lisbon. She also did weekly Bible Study. She loved her dogs, Stanley and Stella. She gave great hugs, had a smile and a “How are you doing honey?” for everyone she met. Her kindness and generosity will be remembered by many. She was the centerpiece of our family and was always home to us.

She is survived by her husband, Clark, of Lisbon, ND, son Clayton Brown of Denver, CO, Daughter Amiee (Brian Allerdings) Brown of Canistota, SD, her brothers Mike (Leila) Woodhouse of Biloxi, MS and Randall (Becky) Meyers of Huron, SD and David Meyers of Huron, SD, her sisters Lori (Don) Dailey of Mandan, ND and Darla McCain (Loren Zundel) of Forbes, ND, several nieces and nephews and her special friends, Barb Babcock and Marcia Lancaster.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Leona Meyers, her father Darrel Woodhouse, sister Renee Meyers, brother Timothy Woodhouse, niece Emily Nelson and nephew, Joshua Brown.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lisbon ND, at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday August 11, 2020 with Pastor Norm Anderson officiating.
