Patrick Harney Obituary

Patrick Dale Harney, 58 of Sheldon, North Dakota died Friday, August 30, 2019 from injuries received in a motor vehicle accident near Sheldon.

Pat was born on December 18, 1960 the son od Dale and Lila (Hubbard) Harney in Norfolk, Nebraska. He was raised and educated in Clarkson, Nebraska, graduating from high school in 1979. Pat then attended the University of Nebraska. He went to work for Fagen Inc. of Granite Falls, Minnesota building clean energy plants. He also took part in building the Ralph Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks, North Dakota and worked at the sunflower plant in Enderlin. Pat met the love of his life in 1991, Lisa Holt, and spent twenty-eight wonderful years together. In 1996, they made their home in Sheldon.

Pat was a diehard Nebraska Cornhusker fan and loved spending time visiting with family and friends. He was funny, intelligent, a very loving man, excellent artist, the comeback king and a member of the Losers Club (during his college days).

Pat is survived by his loving wife, Lisa of Sheldon, ND; three children, Jason (Katie) Hansen of Mapleton, MN; Nathaniel (Melissa) Hansen of Freemont, NE; Teala Holt of Lisbon, ND;  seven grandchildren, Kasey, John, David, Eldora, Ethan, Jeffrey and Jessica; step mother, Betty Harney of Columbus, NE; five siblings, Mike (Monica) Harney of Clarkson, NE; Sherri Mayer of Valley, NE; David (Sharon) Harney of Arizona; Cindy (Todd) Keenen of Stanton, NE; Shawn (Monica) Tribune, KS; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pat is preceded in death by his parents and infant nephew, Duane Keenen and nephew, Adam Mayer.
