Paulette Georgina (Ostbye) Jankowski

Paulette Georgina Jankowski, 71 of Enderlin, North Dakota passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 after an 11-year battle with COPD at her home surrounded by her loving family under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. 

Paulette was born on May 6, 1948 to Miles and Sylvia (DuBord) Ostbye in Fargo, North Dakota. She was raised by her mother, Sylvia and step dad, Donald Luther in the Buffalo/Alice area. Paulette graduated from Buffalo High School in 1966. She was united in marriage to James Jankowski on September 22, 1969 in Deadwood, South Dakota. They made their home in rural Enderlin. When their children were older, she worked at Parkside Lutheran Home, Beverly Anne, Enderlin Vet Clinic and did house cleaning in the Lisbon/Enderlin area. 

She was active in 4-H as a leader and raised rabbits for 4-H. She enjoyed horses and raising various animals on the farm. Paulette loved gardening, flowers, bird watching, Gone With The Wind, porcelain dolls, she was a wonderful cook, and loved everything about Christmas time. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Paulette is survived by her husband, James Jankowski of Enderlin, ND; sons, Robbie (Sirena) Jankowski of Dent, MN; Joel Jankowski of Lubbock, TX; daughters, Gina (Kurt) Louden of Enderlin, ND; Katie (Tobey) Christmann of Lisbon, ND; Ten grandchildren, Kyle (Shelby) Jankowski, Hunter Jankowski, Tristan McMahon (Sedona Christianson), Victoria & Alivia Louden, Cathiryn Green, Kados Huus, Isaac and Sophia Christmann & Katarina Fey; two great-grandchildren, Thalia & Royce Jankowski; three brothers, Dick (Nancy) Ostbye of Florence, MT; Doug (Karen) Ostbye of Federal Way, WA; Tim (Ruth) Luther of Fergus Falls, MN; numerous nieces and nephews. 

Paulette was preceded in death by her parents. 

Paulette’s family would like to thank Hospice of the Red River Valley, friends and family for their care and support during this difficult time.
