Raymond Henry Meyers

Raymond H. Meyers, 74 of Lisbon, North Dakota, died Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the North Dakota Veterans Home, Lisbon, North Dakota.

Ray was born on March 4, 1942, the son of Louie and Geraldine (Volkman) Meyers in Breckenridge, Minnesota. He was raised and educated in Milnor, North Dakota. As a young man, Ray enlisted into the United States Air Force and served until receiving an honorable discharge. Ray was united in marriage to Brenda Olson in June of 1971. They would later divorce. He worked various jobs throughout his life, and was known as a jack of all trades. Ray worked at Ranes Motor Company for thirteen years and most recently until his retirement, he was the maintenance supervisor at the North Dakota Veterans Home for sixteen years.

Ray was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served as a volunteer fireman for many years. He enjoyed woodworking and working on cars as well as restoring them.

Ray is survived by his two sons, Nathan (Jennifer) Meyers of Onalaska, WI; Scott (Lisa) Meyers of Cokato, MN; four grandchildren, Amelia and Olive Meyers, Cameron and Alex Meyers; sister, Kathy (Don) Fluto of Wyndmere, ND; brothers, Bruce (Lori) Meyers of Mandan, ND and Larry (Penny) Meyers of Dent, MN; numerous nieces and nephews.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents and twin brother, Richard Meyers.
