Ruth Mary (Jacobs) Maker

Ruth M. Maker, 80 of Lisbon, North Dakota passed away Friday, August 27, 2021 surrounded by her family at home.

Ruth was born on March 6, 1941, to Frank and Anna (Zahn) Jacobs in Napoleon, North Dakota. She attended school in Lamoure, North Dakota graduating in 1959. Ruth was united in marriage to Glenn Lere on December 20, 1961. They owned Lere’s Auto Machine Shop until Glenn’s health declined, so Ruth worked as a cook at the Stake Out for over twenty years. Glenn passed away in 1991. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and being with her family. Ruth married Earl Maker on November 2, 1998 and they made their home in Hunter, North Dakota for a few years before returning to Lisbon.

Ruth is survived by her five children, Todd “Pete”, Howard, Alan (Gina) and Christopher Lere, Ann Marie (Greg) Reinke all of Lisbon, North Dakota; Grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jesse Juelfs (Caitlyn & Eli), Dylan Juelfs, Kyle (Myah), Jacob (Nikki), Allison (Michael), (Carter & Benny), Ashley (Ryan) Tandeski, (Kasyn & Tayen), Samantha (Jake) Reinke, Jamie Reinke, (Tanner), sisters, Sherry Schiermeister of Bismarck, ND; Delaine Schultz of Wishek, ND; brothers, Charles (Deb) Jacobs of Bismarck, ND; Ken (Cari) Jacobs of Fargo, ND; Larry (JoAnn) Jacobs of Moorhead, MN; Jeff (Rhonda) Jacobs of Maricopa, AZ; sisters-in-law, Doris Lere of Crystal, MN; Gloria Lere of Moorhead, MN; Alice Shaw of Millinocket, ME, Marcia Zimmerman of Marion, ND; numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Husbands, Glenn, Earl (2009), brother, Ralph Jacobs, sisters, Bonnie and Connie and sister-in-law, Bev Jacobs.
