Susanna Olah Obituary

  Susanna Elizabeth Olah, 97 of Lisbon, North Dakota died Thursday, December 27, 2018 at CHI Lisbon Health.

  Susanna was born on September 2, 1921, the daughter of Stephen and Rose (Deutsch) Bauer in Eden, South Dakota. She was raised in rural Oakes, North Dakota and graduated from Oakes High School. Susanna then moved to St. Paul, Minnesota and work as a cook in area restaurants. She married Jim O’Keefe and they continued to live in St. Paul. A few years later Jim and Susanna moved to California. After Jim passed away, she continued her career as a cook. Eventually, she met Ted Olah and they were married in 1974. They made their home in California until moving to Pittsburgh, Kansas where Ted passed away. Susanna returned to Gwinner in 2004. Susanna moved to Lisbon in 2008 and has resided at the care center since 2009.

  Susanna enjoyed crocheting, cooking and visiting with family and friends. She also loved spending time with her dog, PJ and talked about him often even after his      passing.

  Susanna is survived by her two sisters, Dorothy Schmit of Belgrade, MN; Anna Mae Loegering of Jackson, MI; brother, Steven (Arlene) Bauer of Sun City, AZ; numerous nieces and nephews.

  Susanna was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Jim and Ted, siblings, Leonard Bauer, Katherine Bauer, Edmund Bauer, Matthew Bauer, Angeline Bauer, Marie Ryan, Theodore Bauer, Evelyn Swentik and Betty Marson.
