Virgil Lawrence Nogowski Sr.

Virgil Lawrence Nogowski Sr., 60 of Gwinner, North Dakota passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Virgil was born on December 18, 1958, in Hankinson, North Dakota to Lawrence “Danny” and Mary “Ruby” (Ringsaker) Nogowski. On May 19, 1979 he married Peggy Gereszek in Hankinson. Virgil was employed in road construction for many years, including Mahrer Construction, Harris Construction and Dakota Improvement. He was self-employed as a long-haul owner/operator for fifteen years. He then worked for Manikowski Well Drilling for three years and most recently was employed by Sargent County Highway and Bridge.

Virgil enjoyed spending time with family and grandkids and watching his grandkids participate in activities. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing whenever time allowed.

Virgil is survived by his loving  wife of 39 years, Peggy; four children, Amanda (Dominic) Olson; Virgil (Tara) Nogowski Jr. both of Gwinner, ND; Melissa (Ross) Erdmann of Horace, ND; Michelle (Brand) Nelson of Gwinner, ND; eleven grandchildren, Ramzy, Colin, Layla, Mackenzie, Dawson, Grant, Jacob, Adyson, Cooper, Lucas, Karly and a 12th grandchild expected  in October; his brothers, James Nogowski of Fergus Falls, MN; Michael (Sherri) Nogowski of Twin Valley, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, Danny and Ruby, brother, Ralph, Sister, Janice, Father-in-law, Daniel Gereszek and mother-in-law, Deloris Gereszek.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the North Sargent Archery Program (16 1st St. SW, Gwinner, ND 58040).
